Oh so quiet…

So recently I haven’t been posting any new work up online as I’m getting ready to re-launch my new look and website alongside two major projects I’ve been working my arse off for. I’ve got so much editing to catch up on that my eyeballs feel like they’re about to dissolve and melt down my face at any second… Even though it may not seem like it, I have in fact been an extremely excited and insanely busy bee!

I’ve got loads of shoots ready now to share online but I’m holding off so my new site has as much impact as possible. Evolving as a professional (and artist) is really inspiring for me and I’m really looking forward to seeing the response I get!

For anyone that’s keen to see what I’ve been working on, all I can say is be patient and in a couple of weeks time you’ll have heaps to look at. In the meantime, here is a ridiculous photo of me taken recently whilst shooting a lookbook on a freezing beach in Norfolk…

The photographic stance might be the worst thing ever recorded in the entire history of the universe, and my camera definitely needs a clean; but the shot I got in the process was killer. Justified? Hope so!

“Everything That Shimmers” editorial. Featured on Papercut’s website as a webtorial March 2012. Showing off that secondhand can still mean glamourous.

See the webtorial here. We borrowed good friends the Scott-Slade brother’s house in Whitechapel for this. Check out their amazing games company Johnny Two Shoes. Talented lads; incredible bathroom!

I’ve been a bit hushed about it for a while, but recently I’ve been working hard on a collaboration with talented wedding photographer Rik Pennington. We’re teaming up to offer bespoke shoots for couples that want something a little different. Here’s a peak at our first shoot. To view more photos click here. Website coming soon! Watch this space.

Looking for a new assistant. Please reblog!

Must have experience/portfolio/professional gear & be in London. I’m looking for someone who can not only assist on fashion based shoots, but who’s also potentially interested in second shooting weddings with me to gain a portfolio in that field.

Email me at  rachel@rachelmanns.com with a brief explanation about yourself and your experience, links to your work and a description of your photographic kit. Then we can drink lots of tea and discuss the matter further! Thanks :)

Inner City Afternoon Part 1

Shot at my wonderful friend Emily’s flat in Soho in January. We all had a really good chilled out afternoon shooting this. Carla was brilliant and we got through it all really quickly. Good times.

Here’s a selection of my favourite shots from the work I did with the wonderful ethical clothing brand Luva Huva earlier this month. I’ve chosen a mixture of lifestyle and lookbook shots. It was such a lovely job to do, and they’re such a beautiful company. Thanks guys!

Detail shots from around the beautiful Bygone House in Hammersmith, London from the Luva Huva lookbook shoot earlier this month. They’ve dotted these images (plus some more) throughout the lookbook to add to the feel and it worked really well.

I love my job. Thanks so much for this photo Tom Hand!

Behind the scenes photos from lookbook shoot for Luva Huva (photos coming soon) last week taken by assistant Tom Hand. Jo and Tom from Luva Huva are incredible, and our model Emily Hayler was wonderful all day. Such an amazing house; such a good day.

I shot Luva Huva’s new lookbook and press shots last week in an incredible house in Hammersmith. Definitely check them out, they handmake beautiful lingerie and loungewear from bamboo, organic cotton, soy and hemp right here in the UK, and everything in the line is gorgeous! Just working on the photos at the moment, I’m really happy with how they’re looking :).

Natural beauty test with Isri from Milk Management, assisted by Tom Hand. It was a really lovely morning and the light was incredible, thanks to my friend’s Lizzy and Ollie for letting us use their beautiful flat so early in the day!
